19. syyskuuta Love, Movie, and Hobbies The topic of Evolution of Narrative Film is Love story in this week. Tom showed Roman Holiday and Out of Africa to us. They are my favorite films. Rome Holiday may be the most famous love story that everyone can be attracted. But there are less people know Out of Africa. It's my best favorite movie that I watched million times. Like Tom said that this movie had the best director, best cinematographer, best actors, best music, and best everythings. It such a wonderful movie that really touch my heart, deeply and deeply. Although I cannot count how many times that I watched it, I still can enjoy this movie again and again. The movie was shot at Kenya, in Africa that is my dreaming place. I was moved by Tom's words. He lived at Kenya about 8 years. He used so emotional langauge to tell us what he met in Africa. He is a really great teacher. Tom Mankiewicz is a director, producer, and screenwriter. The most famous works that he made are James Bond films and Superman. I enjoy his lecture so much. In Out of Africa, Denys was so attracted me. He is a brave and smart person who love freedom and discoverying wild world. He took Karen to see the land of Africa from God's eyes. That scene is such amazing! It's not a happy ending, but People cannot feel sad at the end, cause they already had true love. I hope, someday, I can make a wonderful movie like Out of Africa.
Every day we just shoot, edit, and act for movies. That's really interesting life. We have lots of fun during making films. I just so enjoy my life in here. But I'm still fighting with myself, cause I know how much I lost. I just realized that I've never understand a movie before. I used wrong way to know a movie. Acturally, I cannot remember what I got from films when I want to shoot some. And I also just realized that I haven't any REAL hobbies. There are lots of people who have many hobbies. That's REAL hobbies . They deeply and professional understand their hobbies, not just interested in. They live with their hobbies as careers and never stop to discover them. But for me, hobbies just the things that I'm interested in and I never deeply discover and understand. That's really bad. So, now I'm trying to develop somethings that I lost and I want to make them become my real hobbies. And then, my life will become rich and colorful. 12. syyskuuta SUV SUV SUVI was looking for a SUV with Michael, Mingming, and King today. But it was really hard. I really want to buy a big car. I'm attracted by big things, like big eyes, wide shoulder, big watch...So I want to get a SUV. It's my style. There was a really good SUV, but it's a little bit expensive. We will go to other dealers tomorrow. Hope I can find one.
There are lots of wired people in my school. Some of them are really different. I'm curious and interested in their world. Something push me to discover. I have less experience about life, but I know I can learn from other's stories. Just like watching a movie, there are so many different lifes. 10. syyskuuta 9/9/9My first film was due on today. Our films was played at class one by one. I think I did good job that is much better than my introduction film. My classmates are all interested guys. Their films so different and special. Compare with them, my idea is still so simple and traditional. That's not good. I need use other ways to consider. Hope I can improve at next time. The second film will due on next Wed.
I think I'm still fool, naive, and simple, but I realized that I got some changes on something. It's really interesting and great! Hope I can make it! But it is really hard to deep into the life of someone else when the person has really different life from you before. Anyway, I will try.
Forgot to say something:
We watched a film at Evolution of Narrative Film class. The name is Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. I love this film soooo much. It is a very different and unique western film. The color, angle, and view of this film is so great! The song is really wonderful. Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid was so attracted me. I love the two actors who are Paul Newman and Robert Redford. They are my favorite actors. I love Robert Redford from Out of Africa, cause the character was my dreaming person. Paul is such awesome person, no matter from any part of his life. If there is a person can be mixed by both of them, I know he must be what I am looking for in my life!
9. syyskuuta What's going on, Today? I got a bike! It means that I do not need to walk 15 mints to go to school under badly sunshine and I will have more 15 mints to sleep!HAHAHA YEAH!! But today is getting cooler. It's awesome.
Tonight, I visited a class. The class guest is Tony Bill at this semester. One of his film is "The Sting" that won seven Oscar Awards in 1973. He is a producer, director and an actor. I remember he said that something we want to create must from inside of our heart. Don't copy, imitate, and take others. Just be yourself and to do something that really belongs to you. Then you will make great movies that can really touch other's heart. 8. syyskuuta Something need to remember Today is really need to remember for me. it is a important time in my life. This is my first time to shoot a film and first time to be an actor. Although the film will be just 1 mins after editing, it is really a start! I never think about this day come so soon.
Including me, my group has five people that are Mike, Lucien, David, and Yu. They all have rich experience about film production, so I got huge help on doing my film from them. Actually, I just was a director, not a cinematographer in my film, cause I got a professional cinematographer (Yu) to teach me this time. And next time, I would be a photograhper in my little film that would be fantastic!
